Why do I see additional usage charges from the Buddify app on my Shopify bill?

If a sale occurs through the BUDDY Marketplace app, an additional usage charge may appear on your Shopify invoice. This happens because, on the Buddify Marketplace app, products are displayed with a minimum discount of 25% - a discount rate you agreed to when you signed up for Buddify. For instance, if you offer a 35% discount on all your products but the Marketplace app applies a 25% discount for the end-user (as determined by our algorithms), you'll see a usage fee of 10% applied to the total sale price of your products, excluding shipping costs.

To illustrate, if an end-user purchases $100 worth of products from your store and pays an additional $10 for shipping, you would normally anticipate receiving $65 for the products (reflecting the 35% discount you agreed to) plus $10 for shipping, totalling $75. However, if a sale is made through the Buddify Marketplace, the price you receive might be calculated as $75 for the products (since the app's algorithms offer a 25% discount to the end-user) plus $10 for shipping, summing up to $85. Consequently, a usage charge of $10 (the 10% difference between the 35% discount you offered and the 25% discount applied by the app) will be assessed after the sale.

Bear in mind that additional usage charges on your Shopify bill can only occur when a “Standard” user of the Buddify Marketplace buys your products. However, "Premium" users of the Buddify Marketplace qualify for the full discount you provide, hence they will not incur any extra usage fees on your Shopify account. In either case, your revenue will not be affected.
