Acorus gramineus 'Ogon' (Golden Sweet Flag) – Grass-like Marginal for Damp Soil (2L Pot)

Elegant perennial grass-like plant with golden-green foliage that brightens ponds, borders and shaded gardens for most of the year.

Acorus gramineus 'Ogon' (golden variegated sweet flag) is a moisture-loving, semi-aquatic perennial prized for its soft, arching leaves striped in yellow and green. Its graceful, grass-like form adds movement, texture and light to areas where few plants thrive, especially damp or shaded spots near ponds, water features and boggy beds.

Compact, hardy and easy to grow, this versatile perennial keeps most of its golden tones through a mild winter, creating calm, natural contrast in both traditional and modern garden designs. It is a bog and pond marginal rather than a border grass, so the soil must stay wet or at least reliably moist; it will not survive in a dry border. Perfect for pairing with ferns, hostas or irises, Acorus 'Ogon' enhances any planting scheme with elegance and reliability.

Supplied in a 2L pot, this well-established plant offers instant impact and long-term performance. Low-maintenance and fully hardy in UK conditions, it is an ideal choice for gardeners seeking dependable colour, structure and texture across the seasons.
