Fairbanks-Morse Diesel Engine A-Gang Challenge Coin

The Fairbanks-Morse Diesel Engine Challenge Coin turns an engine design into a custom-shaped A-Gang collectible. Measuring 3.25 × 2.375 inches, it pairs mechanical artwork on the front with a submarine-at-sea scene on the reverse.

Engine-shaped front

Red “A-Gang” lettering sits above a row of numbered cylinder panels and detailed engine components. The lower artwork includes Navy insignia and a plaque marked “Fairbanks Morse,” “38ND 8 1/8,” and “8 Cylinder.” These markings identify the engine depicted in the design.

Submarine and ghost-fish reverse

The reverse shows a dark submarine against blue waves, with an A-Gang ghost-fish motif and submarine insignia above. “A Gang,” “Prepare to Snorkel,” and “Pride Runs Deep” complete the naval theme.
