Damascus Steel and Blade Detail

The blade is carefully hand forged using 15N20 & 1095 steel through a process of layering, welding, hammering, and shaping. This traditional forging process creates a distinctive Damascus pattern across every blade, giving each knife its own unique appearance similar to a fingerprint. Each Sentinel is individually handcrafted and truly one of a kind.

Damascus steel has outstanding properties of strength and hardness. We enhance these properties through double oil quenching at approximately 2100°F to rapidly cool the steel and develop hardness throughout the blade. The finished blade achieves approximately HRC 62+ on the Rockwell Scale for dependable cutting performance and edge retention.

The contrasting steel layers are finished using ferric chloride, which reacts differently with the metals and reveals the distinctive Damascus pattern across the blade.

Scales & Handle

The handle is handcrafted using a combination of natural bone and horn, creating a distinctive composite design with unique variations in color, grain, and texture. Each handle is carefully fitted and finished to provide a secure and comfortable grip. Full tang construction extends the blade steel through the handle for added strength, stability, and balance, while multiple pins reinforce the handle assembly for dependable long-term use.
