Meet Rosé Cabbage: a striking cabbage with purple-green outer leaves and a vibrant pink to violet centre. It brings the familiar crunch and juicy texture of white cabbage to the table with a colour that makes every dish stand out.

This sweet, mild variety forms rounded heads and is especially appealing for slaws, salads, wraps and fresh foodservice preparation. Its colour holds well after cutting and is less prone to bleeding into surrounding ingredients than conventional red cabbage.

Rosé Cabbage is a strong-growing F1 hybrid suited to temperate growing conditions. Give each plant room to form a full head, keep the soil evenly moist and harvest when the head feels firm.

Prepare fertile, well-drained soil Helps the plant produce a substantial, uniform head. Allow 45–50 cm between plants Provides space for mature leaves and airflow. Water consistently Cabbages grow best without repeated periods of drying out. Inspect the leaves regularly Early checks make caterpillars, aphids and other pests easier to manage. Harvest when firm A firm, well-formed head delivers the best texture for the kitchen. 🥗 Colour, Flavour & Kitchen Uses Colour: Purple-green outer foliage opens to a vivid pink to violet interior.

Flavour: Sweet and mild, with the juicy crunch you would expect from a quality white cabbage.

Fresh use: Shred into slaws, salads, wraps, sandwiches and colourful mixed vegetable packs.

Preparation: The colour remains attractive when prepared raw, marinated or lightly cooked. It is particularly useful in mixed dishes where you want colour with less bleeding than conventional red cabbage. 🐛 Pest & Care Notes Watch for: cabbage white caterpillars, diamondback moth larvae, aphids and slugs or snails on young plants.

Good habits: Check the undersides of leaves, use suitable insect netting where needed and keep weeds down around the plants.

Watering: Water at the base and aim for consistent soil moisture, particularly as heads begin to form. QPS Grower’s Tip Slice your first Rosé Cabbage head in half before shredding it—the colourful centre is part of the fun. For the best crunch, harvest once the head feels firm and use it fresh in a slaw or wrap.
