Sounds and Letters 'long e'

This is a set of 22 readers to support the teaching of phonics in classrooms. The foundations of reading must come from the sounds of the syllables and letters. This is a step which is essential for this reading process to be effective and quick. The first step in learning to read is to recognise the letters and associated sounds. Children are introduced to all the letters and sounds for decoding practice in this set of 22 readers.

These are readers which use repetition and engaging visuals to introduce specific short vowels, long vowels, consonants and blends. Children will enjoy the engaging graphics as well as learning their initial foundation sounds. The phonemic awareness stage is essential before children can progress to decoding and reading. If this foundational stage is not mastered, children may have trouble with decoding and reading. An important stage and classroom work is reinforced with these simple readers.
