Three Silver Options — Find Your Fit
Not all silver cups are the same. Go Mommy® offers three distinct options so you can choose by durability, purity or price.
925 SterlingGold Standard of Silver
92.5% silver with 7.5% copper alloy. The classic choice — durable and long-lasting, and it holds its shape well in daily use. Sterling is the standard alloy for silver jewelry.
999 Pure SolidPurest Touch for Sensitive Skin
99.9% pure silver with no copper alloy — the purest and softest of the three options. Because it is softer than Sterling, handle it gently; it can dent if dropped.
999 TrilaminateHigh Performance & Structural Resilience
A layered construction: a copper core with an electroplated silver surface. Not solid silver throughout, which is why it is our lowest-priced option. The firm core holds the dome shape; rinse gently and avoid abrasive polishing.
All three options are used the same way between feeds. 925 Sterling and 999 Pure Solid are solid silver; 999 Trilaminate is silver-plated. Choose based on durability, purity or price. Purity alone cannot promise how your skin will react; if you have a known metal allergy, check with your healthcare provider first.
Silver Cups vs. Nipple Creams
Feature Go Mommy® Silver Cups Nipple Creams Reusability ♻️ One-time purchase — reusable Runs out — recurring cost Mess Factor ✨ Clean & dry Sticky — can stain clothing Baby Safety ✅ Nothing to ingest — remove before feeding Must be wiped off before each feed Approach 💧 Keeps breast milk in contact with skin Adds external substance to skinTwo Sizes Available
Regular
~4.5 cm diameter · 1.6 cm height
Fits most mothers comfortably. The dome covers the nipple and a small surrounding area of the areola. Generally suitable for bra sizes A through D.
XL
~5.2 cm diameter · 1.6 cm height
Wider dome for larger breast sizes (D+) or when Regular feels snug. Also recommended during engorgement when areola size increases temporarily.
Between sizes? Choose XL. A slightly larger dome is always preferable to any compression. Your nursing bra — not the cup — provides the hold.

Common Questions
Are these solid silver or plated?
Our 925 Sterling and 999 Pure Solid cups are solid silver: the 925 Sterling uses 92.5% silver alloyed with copper for durability, and the 999 Pure Solid is 99.9% silver. Our 999 Trilaminate cups are silver-plated: a copper core with an electroplated silver surface.
Can I use creams or nipple butter with the cups?
Creams, balms, or oils should never be placed inside the dome — they create a barrier between silver and skin. If your healthcare provider has recommended a nipple cream, use it during a stretch when you are not wearing the cups, and let the skin clear before putting them back on.
How do I clean them?
Rinse with warm water after each use — no soap needed daily. For deeper cleaning, wash with mild fragrance-free soap once a week. If tarnish appears on 925 or 999 cups (normal for silver), make a paste with baking soda and water, rub gently, rinse, and dry. For 999 Trilaminate (silver-plated), skip pastes and polishing: leave tarnish as it is or wipe it with a soft, dry cloth.
How long do they last?
Solid 925 and 999 cups are durable and, with proper care, can be reused for later children. 999 Trilaminate cups have a plated surface, so clean them gently and replace them if the silver wears through. Store them in the velvet pouch between uses to minimize tarnishing.
Are they HSA or FSA eligible?
Yes. Go Mommy® Silver Nursing Cups are eligible for purchase with HSA and FSA funds. Check with your plan administrator to confirm your specific coverage details.
Which size should I choose?
Regular (~4.5 cm) fits most mothers comfortably, generally bra sizes A–D. XL (~5.2 cm) is recommended for D+ cup sizes or during engorgement. If you're between sizes, go with XL — a slightly larger dome is always preferable to any compression.
