Outdoor Research Helium UL Bivy - 2026 Waterproof Ultralight (511g)

The Outdoor Research Helium UL Bivy is a 511g waterproof, breathable shelter for climbers and fastpackers who'd rather leave the tent at home. Updated for 2026, it's the version to choose if you want recycled fabrics, proper ventilation and stakes in the bag.

The upper is bluesign® approved 2.5-layer Pertex® Shield NetPlus® with a hydrophilic laminate, in 100% recycled 30D ripstop nylon, fully seam-taped over a PU-coated 40D nylon floor. Two passive ventilation flaps let moist air out overnight, so you wake with less condensation. A clamshell opening and a single DAC aluminium pole make it surprisingly roomy for a bivy, and the high-volume toe box keeps your feet from feeling trapped. It comes with six stake loops and four aluminium stakes, reflective trims and a no-see-um mesh panel. Pick it in Light Pewter or Spice, on its own or with the Vestibule for covered gear space.
