DMM Mantis & Shadow HMS Belay Set - Lightweight Two-Mode (Lime)

The DMM Mantis & Shadow HMS belay set is a simple, light and dependable way to control the rope. A compact two-mode belay and abseil device comes matched with a Shadow HMS screwgate, so there is no guesswork over which carabiner to pair it with.

The Mantis offers two friction modes: choose the rope position that suits your rope diameter, the conditions and how much braking feel you like. Carefully shaped internal surfaces keep rope movement predictable whether you are belaying a leader or abseiling off, and at 45g for the device and 131g for the complete set it barely registers on your harness. The lime finish makes it easy to spot on a busy rack. We would put this set in the hands of a first-time belayer as happily as a trad climber who wants a light, no-fuss device.
